In Hakone, a ropeway runs up the slope to the viewpoint at Mototsumiya. As the cabin rises, the lake, forests and, in clear air, the distant mountain range come into view. A small shrine at the top keeps the view quiet company.
Mountain weather turns fast and runs cool, so bring a thin jacket. Seeing Fuji depends on the weather and is not guaranteed. Wear comfortable shoes for the short walk at the top.
