Mud volcanoes and prehistoric petroglyphs exploration in Gobustan
Baku · Azerbaijan
About this experience
Gobustan National Park holds two different worlds side by side. On one side are prehistoric images carved into rock, and on the other, volcanoes that spit mud. The first draws attention to the voice of the past, the second to the fact that the ground is still on the move.
There is walking over rocky, open ground, so sturdy shoes, a hat and plenty of water are needed. Mud may get on your clothes, so allow for that. From spring to autumn it can be hot, so avoid the middle of the day.
