Freedom Bridge and Korean War Memorials at the DMZ
Seoul · South Korea
About this experience
Imjingak lies north of Seoul, in an area where the traces of war and the pain of separation are still visible. The Freedom Bridge is remembered as the crossing by which prisoners returned; the monuments around it, a preserved train and fences covered in ribbons of wishes show that the division continues.
Wind and light change quickly in the open, so dress in layers. Because the site is close to a military zone, follow your guide's instructions and carry identification. Stay quiet and respectful at the memorials.
