Pacific sunrise behind the 15 Moai statues at Ahu Tongariki
Easter Island · Chile
About this experience
Ahu Tongariki on Easter Island is a site where fifteen Moai statues stand in a line on one platform. As the sun rises from the Pacific, light slowly picks out the silhouettes of the statues. Seeing so many figures together in a quiet morning leaves a strong impression.
It can be cool before sunrise, so bring a jacket. The site is open and wind is a factor, and please follow the rules to avoid harming the statues.
