Pan Pacific Singapore

I was hesitant to book Pan Pacific for staycation as I had horrible stay experience in their sister Hotel Park Royal which is just across the street from Pan Pacific. Being in the centre between Marina Square, Suntec City and Millenia Walk, location is definitely fantastic. Truly a valuable gem in the city, the club rooms and its club lounge are top notch, a 6 star experience in a 5 star hotel is no joke when the hotel and its management portrays excellent service in its heart of everything. It has become my new favorite Club Room stay! The services are pristine, heartening, personal and absolutely fantastic. Though not entirely perfect as some staff can definitely improve with more attention to details (1 staff could have noticed that if the guests have their shoes placed near the door, they should deduce that the guests would not like shoes to be worn in the room). We stayed 2 nights in 2 Club Rooms. The rooms are cozy and spacious and clean, the bed is super comfy and they have pillow selection to ensure a better night rest for their guests. Both rooms are maintained with consistent standards. We absolutely love the stay! Attention to all foodies out there, we absolutely love the foods at Pan Pacific Hotel. Their Hai Tien Lo special Peking duck (comes with caviar) is so fulfilling and satisfying, definitely a bang! Their Pacific Emporium serves great quality food (really credits to them as their food generally remains consistent good standard even when starting to get cold). Do not forget to get their cookie jars which they serve very authentic and munchy tasty cookies! The breakfasts included in the Club Room can choose from Champagne Breakfast at the Club Lounge or at their The Edge restaurant which is more kid friendly and much more variety. The Club Lounge has a wonderful afternoon tea reception and evening wine cocktails. Both have a good amount of variety of foods and drinks. They have a children's pool and an indoor children playground which are a great surprise addition to my excellence checklist! I am definitely hands up and all for those who treat and respect children as little humans properly (unlike the hotel across the street of Pan Pacific - had horrible Club experience there). In room dining menu has good variety of foods, the only area of concern is that perhaps they can finetune the recipes to ensure the taste is good despite the food starts turning cold or turned cold. I do taste foods when they arrive hot or warm and purposely leave them a bit cold to retry the taste. All in all, I do recommend Pan Pacific Hotel for staycation for families with children. This is a kids friendly hotel and children definitely love this place - my child does!

I would strongly caution parents with babies, toddlers or strollers against staying at this hotel. Despite promoting itself as family-friendly, the accessibility and safety standards for families are deeply concerning. After parking, I was directed to use a public escalator with my stroller in order to access the hotel lobby. When I questioned again that it’s not safe to do so, the staff told me that that is the only choice to access the hotel lobby. This resulted in an accident where I suffered bruises and abrasions, while my baby was badly frightened. Thankfully, two gentlemen nearby managed to support me during the fall. Otherwise, the consequences could have been far more serious. What was most shocking, however, was the hotel’s response afterwards. In their written reply, they stated that the directions provided “were not an assurance that using a stroller on a public escalator would be risk-free in every circumstance” and that “guests would need to assess their own comfort and ability to manage a stroller safely at the time.” To me, this response reflects a complete lack of accountability and awareness regarding child and stroller safety. If a hotel knows that the primary access route from its carpark involves escalators without proper lift alternatives, why are families with strollers being directed there in the first place? The hotel also suggested that staff could potentially “look after children while parents park”, which I found highly unrealistic, dismissive and insensitive from a safety perspective. Parents travelling alone with young children should seriously reconsider staying here unless they are fully prepared to navigate unsafe and inaccessible routes with strollers. A hotel cannot market itself as family-friendly while lacking safe accessibility infrastructure for families.
