Mercure Marijampole

The air conditioning did not work. After a hot day with temperatures around 29°C, the room turned into a sauna, and at night it was almost impossible to breathe. Even opening the window did not help. Honestly, we would have been better off sleeping outside — the air was fresher there. For guests with heart conditions, these conditions are simply unacceptable. The breakfast was no better. Cold cuts, cheese and butter were kept in a switched-off refrigerator and were visibly warming up. Perishable food should be stored at temperatures below +5°C, not left to melt on a buffet. Very disappointed. This level of service is far below what should be expected from a 4-star hotel.

Very good gym! Lots of equipment. Dumbbells up to 80lbs, smith machine with plates and extra barbell. Rooms are a bit outdated. Still have carpet throughout. Two single beds were a bit awkward. However the mattress toppers made for a good sleep. Public areas are clean and well kept. Restaurant is quite good. I would avoid the continental breakfast though. It is not very good. Location is great. Very central. Parking at hotel can be difficult. Mostly during daytime hours. Staff are friendly and speak great English! Overall not a bad stay for the week. I would return for sure.

I had lunch at the hotel this morning, and given the late hour, they asked me to take it on the first floor. I ordered eggs with bacon… my god, the bacon was barely cooked. Two measly eggs and a salad that wasn't rinsed and was disgusting. The two waitresses were sitting and chatting and didn't even look at me. The vacuum cleaner was in use, and to top it all off, my table wasn't cleaned… In short, avoid this place at all costs. The manager should definitely take control of his staff.
