Hotel Tikida Golf Palace

I am quite disappointed with our stay. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately, that is where the five-star experience ends. We stayed in one of the ground-floor suites and had a significant issue with insects throughout our stay, including moths and mosquitoes inside the room and around the terrace. The worst incident was a massive trail of ants that formed across our room, apparently because they were attracted to a dead insect that had been left behind. This also made us seriously question how thoroughly the room had been cleaned…. But what was far worse than the infestation itself, however, was the way the hotel handled it. We called reception twice asking for help. Nobody came. After that, reception simply stopped answering our calls. I eventually had to physically go to reception and explain the situation again. To my surprise, there was staff sitting there - so why was nobody picking up our calls? We were told cleaning service would arrive in 5 Minutes, but no one ever came. I was honestly speechless. At that point, I actually walked around the property myself trying to find another member of staff who could help us. I eventually found an employee who spoke English, explained the entire situation to her as well, and was under the impression that someone would finally come to our room. I was so desperate at this point. Another 30 minutes passed. Again, nobody came. I then had to go back to reception AGAIN and explain the situation yet another time. There was even a member of the cleaning staff standing at reception at that point, which made it even more difficult to understand why nobody had been sent to our room earlier. At this point, the lady at the reception raised her voice at me! After - what felt like begging her - someone finally came. In total, we waited approximately 1.5 hours for someone to deal with an active ant infestation in our room, despite multiple phone calls, several conversations with different employees, and me personally walking around the property looking for someone to help. I genuinely do not understand why it should take this much effort for a guest to receive basic assistance at a five-star hotel. We should not have to chase employees around the property just to have a serious cleanliness issue addressed. Unfortunately, this was not the only problem. One of the two bathroom sinks was consistently clogged and essentially unusable, there is visible damage and wear in the suite, and the general amount of insects in and around the ground-floor rooms was far beyond what we expected. I have stayed at a couple five-star hotels and have never experienced service like this. I understand that insects can occur, especially in a warm climate and in ground-floor rooms! What I cannot understand or excuse is reporting a problem repeatedly and then being left to deal with it ourselves for 1.5 hours while having to actively search the property for someone willing to help. A beautiful property alone does not make a five-star hotel. Five-star hospitality also means cleanliness, maintenance, responsiveness, and making guests feel that their concerns are actually taken seriously. We genuinely wanted to love this hotel because the property itself is stunning. We would have loved to come back regularly. Instead, I am leaving incredibly disappointed and honestly confused by the treatment we received. For the prices charged and the five-star rating, this experience fell far below what should reasonably be expected. Please save your money and go spend in on a five-star hotel that is ACTUALLY worth the money. This was not it.

I have just checked out of the Tikida Golf Palace and can only describe the experience as complete paradise. The most beautiful hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was all exceptional and couldn’t do enough for me on my stay. The pool is luxurious and the rooms are every bit 5-star. I opted for half board, which didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and again, the level of service was excellent. It’s worth noting that half board here doesn’t include drinks with your evening meal, but don’t let that put you off. It is a truly wonderful place. They arranged for me to visit one of the local Souk markets and even arranged for the taxi driver to wait for me whilst I shopped. Would definitely recommend and really don’t want to leave!
