Hotel Corona - Hampshire Classic

I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past, but I will never do it again. The quality of service and staff excellence no longer exist. We had many issues with our room, the hotel staff, and many others. I do not know what has happened to this place over the last few years, but it is highly disappointing. The only benefit of this place at this point is it's location, but realistically there are other close options.

I received an email on April 11, 2026, at 15:30 confirming a reservation at this hotel that I did not make. What immediately alarmed me was that the booking contained my full name, email address, and phone number. I had no prior knowledge of this reservation, which raises serious concerns about fraud and the misuse of personal data. At approximately 15:43, I called the hotel and spoke with a front desk employee named Jade. She confirmed the reservation and advised that check-in was scheduled for Monday, April 13. I made it explicitly clear that this booking was fraudulent and informed her that I would come to the hotel in person to address the matter. I arrived shortly before 16:00 and again confirmed in person that the reservation had been made using my name, email, and phone number. I was also told the booking dated back to December 2025 and included notes about parking—despite the fact that I do not own a car. At this point, the situation was clearly indicative of misuse of my identity and required immediate intervention. Despite this, Jade refused to cancel the reservation. Instead, she stated that she would “check the ID carefully” upon arrival. This response was not only inadequate, but also demonstrated a concerning lack of urgency and understanding of the risks involved. Allowing a fraudulent reservation tied to someone else’s identity to remain active is not a minor oversight—it is a serious failure in handling a potential fraud case. When I asked to escalate the matter, I was told that no manager was available due to surgery and that no one in a supervisory position could assist until after the reservation dates had passed, until April 16th. This effectively left the situation unaddressed, with no accountability or resolution in place. The interaction became even more concerning when, after I stated I would escalate the matter and leave a negative review, Jade responded by asking if I was “threatening” her. This response was inappropriate and deflective in nature, especially given that I was attempting to resolve a legitimate issue involving the misuse of my personal information. I also made it clear that the situation raised concerns about my personal security. Overall, it is extremely troubling that a hotel with otherwise strong reviews would fail to take decisive action in what is clearly a case of suspected fraud. The lack of response, refusal to cancel the reservation, and absence of escalation options reflect poorly on both staff training and internal procedures. If this is how cases involving identity misuse are handled, it raises serious questions about how guest information is protected. I strongly urge the hotel to review its policies and ensure staff are properly trained to respond to situations of this nature.
