Hearton Hotel Kyoto

To get to this hotel from Tokyo is best to get a Shinkansen to Kyoto station and then change for local train to go to Karasuma-Oike station and then its a 5 minute walk to the station. We hired Kens Taxi Osaka as we had plenty luggage and wanted to make it easier to get to the hotel . We booked Kens Taxi Osaka from Klook a month beforehand as they could be busy and then they will advise you one day beforehand by email what car/van is coming to pick up and time. The check in process was quick and easy as just had to sign in to the hotel register and then given our room keycards. All information was easy to understand about the hotel and surroundings. On levels 3,5,7and 9 there was a washing machine and dryer and also a vending machine for drinks and also a microwave. The vending machine was to be used as there was no complimentary water in this hotel as they were being Eco minded. The microwave could be used to heat up any food you purchased from outside. The dining room for breakfast was on level 1 just in front of reception as you could not miss it and you had to make sure bring your breakfast ticket with you every morning. The breakfast was a la carte so you could choose whatever you wanted. On level 2 you could have a Japanese style breakfast if you wanted something different. The room was a bit small but was to be expected but you could still put 2 large luggage and 2 cabin bags and still have room to move around easily. The bathroom was a bit small but that made it interesting but one good thing that there was a bathtub you could use to soak in so that you could relax after a day's exploring. Almost opposite the hotel is a 7-11 store which was a 2 minute walk away. You could buy whatever you wanted for your stay such as water and snacks or even top up your Icoca or Suica card. Gion was a 20 minute walk away and it was interesting and a bit different. If you wanted could take photos of Geishas but you had to be respectful to them and not stop them going along their every day business. If you wanted could hire a kimono and a good place to hire one was from Rikos Kimonos. They will dress you the part but you had to choose the colour and design of the kimono. Make-up and hair could be done for women but that was extra if you wanted it done. At reception there was a QR code you could scan to do luggage forwarding. At one stage at the hotel we wanted to send our luggage to Asakusa and a staff member who tried to assist us was not that helpful as there was a problem with the phone number for the hotel at Asakusa and said could not help as was not sure what to do. We just left it for the day and the next day we tried again and this time we were assisted by Anisa. Anisa was very helpful as had the some problem with the previous team member but she persisted and manage to solve to problem so that we could continue our booking of the luggage forwarding to Asakusa. Later that evening we came down with our luggage and Anisa was there again to assist us to put the required labels on the luggage and to keep it until the next day so the luggage could be forwarded to our next hotel. I would recommend this hotel due to its location and the staff who go out of their way to assist you. It would be good to stay a few days so that you could explore the local area.

The location is excellent, close to the Metro and public transportation, and within walking distance of places like Nishiki Market. The area also feels very safe, which is a big plus. The staff and service were average, nothing exceptional, but no issues either. The rooms, however, were spacious, clean, and well maintained, which made for a comfortable stay overall.

I had a very comfortable stay at Hearton Hotel Kyoto. Being close to the train station made getting around Kyoto simple, and having convenience stores nearby was really handy for picking up quick snacks and basics. Everything felt straightforward and easy, which made the whole trip less stressful. I’d happily stay here again.
