Derlon

Highly recommend Hotel Derlon! It is absolutely perfect for solo or independent travelers. The rooms are spotless, and the location is unbeatable—super convenient to the vibrant city center and major sightseeing spots. Even though our English is limited, the staff at the front desk showed incredible patience. Staying in the André Rieu Suite was an absolute dream, complete with a lovely balcony and a jacuzzi. A huge highlight was the restaurant in the basement surrounded by ancient ruins—it felt like stepping back in time! We also had a delicious pan-seared salmon dinner at the hotel. Everyone was so welcoming and always greeted us warmly. We spent a fantastic two days here!

We recently booked a standard Deluxe room at Derlon. This was our first visit to Maastricht. The horel'a location was great, walking distance from restaurant shopping streets. We also had a breakfast included which is good, fresh products and omelette station in the morning. And with that the good review ends. For a Deluxe the room was quite small, appearing even smaller due to the glass walls separating the bathroom, which was exactly next to the bed. The room needed a thorough deep cleaning but the worst part was the noise coming from the street and restaurants on the square that continued till 2-3am. You could hear a lot of noise and loud music coming from the kitchen of the restaurant across the street, followed by loud discussions and screaming even after the music was off. You couldn't really rest well and by the time you do manage to fall asleep you are woken up by the light coming through the windows. On top of that, the fridge was small and not cold at all. We paid for a 4 star experience but what we got in the end was a 2 star hotel. Safe to say we are not booking Derlon again when visiting Maastricht.

A spontaneous trip to Maastricht with no plans for an overnight stay. We walked along this hotel , and went inside to ask for availability. Friendly staff , we felt immediately welcomed. We were fortunate to get the last room available . The room was clean, comfortable and had the necessary facilities; coffee machine, hot water heater, mini fridge, free WiFi , bath and shower , television, queen size bed and a beautiful view of the square . Thank you Jay for providing the tea choices I asked for. Highly recommend !
