Alpin Resort Sacher Seefeld-Tirol

As always an almost perfect experience. We had a very nice junior suite with AC. The spa area including external pools and hot tub are great. The food was excellent too. My only remark is related to the service during our first dinner. It was definitely not worth of a 5* superior hotel. We had to wait 15 minutes for our waiter to takeaway our plates. Furthermore we had to serve the wine ourselves at some point. He was not paying attention to our table. Luckily we had another waiter the next day who did a great job. Breakfast is delicious with a large variety of fresh products.

NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL, WITH SERIOUS STAFF ISSUES. COMPLETELY DECEPTIVE ABOUT SERVICE COSTS. DO SOMETHING GOOD FOR YOURSELF, AND CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL!!! We chose this hotel only because the Klosterbräu in Seefeld, the area's best property, was shut for renovation following a fire. We came to regret that choice. Staffing and organisation are the core problem: too few people on duty, poorly prepared, and the operation overall feels chaotic. Because of this, the atmosphere of the hotel is quite sad. Restaurant service doesn't meet basic standards: courses arrive far too slowly, and there's no flexibility at all - changing a dinner dish requires notice that same morning. Food quality is only just acceptable. One waitress, Daniela, was particularly unpleasant - any request was met with evasive answers or a lecture on the restaurant's internal hierarchy, which frankly wasn't our concern. Staff in general, with a few exceptions, were unwelcoming for the entire stay, which is hard to square with what we paid. On one occasion, a bartender (I think the name is Roger) met a perfectly polite request with a RACIST remark. Probably the reason of everything is that the general manager is extremely young, without any meaningful experience, and thus completely inappropriate for this role at an alleged “”luxury”” hotel. Further than the above, they are completely not transparent on the costs of the services, and they stole money from us for the entire vacation. For example, bike tours must be paid separately, but no one told us and we found the surprise in the final check. Also consider that usually in luxury hotels, this service is included. Check-out was another low point: we had an urgent departure and had called an hour ahead to have the car and luggage ready, yet still waited 25 minutes at reception before anything was sorted. The fault wasn't with the porter - one of the very few good employees at the hotel - but with the reception staff. The fact that management (and the mentioned general manager) responds to every negative review simply by saying that guests love the hotel says a lot about their real issue: a lack of humility and no genuine effort to meet individual guests' needs. Either you fit the typical profile of guest this place caters to (who are probably not used to high-end hotels), or you're out of luck. In the last two months alone I've stayed at the Four Seasons in Mexico City, the Emiliano in Rio, and the Setai in Miami - none of which market themselves with grand titles like "the leading luxury hotel," yet all of them could teach this place a great deal. Those hotels are thousands of kilometres from home, and I still felt far more at home there than here. Better hotels exist at this price point (for instance, the Adler) and we won't be back.

The Alpin Sacher is beautifully unique --- total fantasy, whimsy and elegance. Just walking through the hotel makes me smile. The guest rooms are beautifully decorated and have magnificent views. In the Sacher tradition, service is outstanding. Of particular note was the breakfast and kitchen staff that went way beyond our exceptions to assure that our favorites were available. I look forward to our next visit.
