Thon Hotel Gyldenløve

Unfortunately, this was a disappointing stay. Check-in was poor. The receptionist with dark curly hair barely greeted us, didn’t smile, gave us no information about the hotel, and we never received the complimentary water we were supposed to get. When we asked simple questions, like about parking, she either said “I don’t know” or just starte. On the other hand, Marell (I think that was her name) was friendly, welcoming, and clearly cared about the guests. Breakfast was very disappointing. We only ate there once and bought our own food for the rest of our stay. The breakfast area looked and smelled unpleasant, and most of the staff seemed uninterested. The only helpful person was a kitchen employee with short dark hair. The pancakes were clearly pre-made. The room was okay, and the fan we received helped with the heat. However, we had to keep the windows open, and the noise from the courtyard, kindergarten, and roadworks woke us up very early every morning. A special thank you to Angella from housekeeping, who always smiled, greeted us, and was genuinely kind. We usually stay at Thon Hotel Rosenkrantz, but it was fully booked this time. The difference in service and breakfast quality is significant. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t stay here again.

Well located hotel, clean rooms, good breakfast with lots of choices and very attentive staff. I got misinformed at check-in that breast was served til 11am, came right after 10am and they were closed, but I still got to have breakfast which I'm very grateful for👌 Quiet, no noise from the outside, good beds and bedding, pillows are good too - not too soft and not too big - just perfect👍 Room was clean, everything I needed was there. Perfect choice if you need a hotel in downtown area. And also lots of good eating spots all around! Thank you☀️

The location of this hotel is incredibly convenient and strategic – perfect for food, shopping, and getting around. No complaints there! The reception staff were kind, helpful, and very informative, which made check-in and getting around much easier. The room itself is quite small, and the bathroom is very narrow. The bed could be more comfortable, and one downside is that the room has no air conditioning. This makes it better suited for autumn or winter stays – during spring and summer, it can get very hot. If you open the window, bugs may come in, so I recommend asking reception for a fan, which they kindly provided. Also, you can’t lock the room from the inside, which felt a bit unusual, but I still felt safe overall. Now for the highlight – the breakfast is absolutely amazing! From smoked salmon to caviar and other delicious options, it was so good I didn’t even feel like eating lunch afterward. Truly marvellous. I’d definitely return, especially during the cooler seasons. A few quirks, but overall a pleasant stay!
