The Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort Villas & Spa, Cancun

The resort is nice, ocean views are fantastic. Service was great and everyone was friendly. The food could have been better, the mexican food tasted americanized and the hamburger was mexicanized… ugh. The pizza was actually good (considering). The location was perfect with luxury mall across the street. The mall was an awesome option if you dont want to travel far for a fancy night out. Pools were excellent. Overall, i enjoyed the resort and would return! I def recommend !

We had such a wonderful stay at the hotel, and while we enjoyed many aspects of the property, we spent most of our time by the pool enjoying the food, drinks, and incredible service. A special thank you to Javier, who was by far one of my favorites. He was incredibly attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed, and helped me set up our towels each morning. What made him especially memorable was how patient and kind he was while helping me practice my Spanish. His genuine warmth and attention to detail really stood out. Pedro also deserves special recognition when it came to pool and drink service. He was consistently attentive, friendly, and thoughtful, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed throughout the day. His excellent service and welcoming personality made our time by the pool even more enjoyable. Gonzalo — or “Speedy Gonzalo,” as I like to call him — was also fantastic. He was always so friendly, incredibly quick with our drinks, and had such a pleasant attitude. Somehow he always seemed to appear exactly when we needed something! Roberto deserves a special mention for making the best drinks! He even went out of his way to accommodate my request for a “skinny” margarita, which I really appreciated. Edgar was incredibly sweet and personable. He took the time to remember me and also helped me practice my Spanish, which made our interactions even more enjoyable. All of those little personal touches really make a difference when you’re staying somewhere. We also spent several evenings at the Dunes Bar, where Armando was exceptional. He provided outstanding service and made each visit feel special. He was attentive without being intrusive, friendly and engaging, and always made sure we had everything we needed. Armando created such a welcoming atmosphere and went above and beyond to make our evenings enjoyable. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for guests truly stood out, and he was one of the highlights of our time at the Dunes Bar. Beyond the pool and bars, the housekeeping staff also deserves recognition. Our room was cleaned thoroughly and promptly, and they consistently did a wonderful job. Overall, what made our stay so memorable was the people. Every one of these team members contributed to making us feel welcomed, cared for, and genuinely appreciated. Exceptional service can make a great hotel stay into a truly memorable one, and these employees absolutely did that for us. Thank you to Javier, Pedro, Gonzalo, Roberto, Edgar, Armando, and the entire housekeeping team for making our stay so special. We truly appreciate you!

This resort is 18 years old, but you could not tell as it has been constantly maintained and updated. They let us check in at 12:30 at no extra charge. When the door to the room opened it was so chill, I mean the AC was set to 66 degrees. We readjusted the temp but it remained a little too cool the entire time. The 1 bedroom unit has a large refrigerator and a cooktop, but lacks some basic amenities that you can purchase from the convenience store. There is a 2 person jetted tub in the room. I tried to use it, but there wasn't any hot water to fill it with, it was odd because the rest of the unit had plenty of hot water. It wasn't worth calling maintenance because we used the outside hot tubs. The views or optimized to see the shore. The pools are nice, but none are deeper than 4 feet. They must be saltwater pools, because I never smelled chlorine, which is really nice. If you are going to purchase a time share this is a good option, because the maintenance fees are lower. We had a lovely time there, the employees are very accommodating and friendly. The restaurants are fine, the breakfast buffet had every option you could imagine. We didn't do any of the specialty nights, but the sports bar had some great offerings. We probably won't return, but we had a great time and recommend it.
