Scandic Ørnen

I had a decent stay at this hotel. Staff were friendly, rooms were decently sized (but too dark for my taste), and breakfast had good options. Bathroom was a bit dated and the hotel feels like it could use a small renovation. While breakfast was good, it also gets insanely busy and ends too early. People come to Bergen for vacation/holidays, so it would be nice to be able to sleep in and still enjoy breakfast. It was an okay experience all else considered, but I would probably try a different hotel next time.

Great hotel in an excellent location, with easy access to all forms of public transportation. Although it's not right in the city center, it's only about a 10-minute walk, making it very convenient to reach the main attractions. The rooms are spacious, clean, and offer great views. However, we found the storage space a bit limited, and we struggled slightly with the air conditioning controls, as they weren't very intuitive. Unfortunately, the TV remote was missing, and the shower gel wasn't refilled during housekeeping. The breakfast was simply outstanding - excellent quality with a wide variety of options. Don't miss the brunost! We also really appreciated the dedicated gluten-free section, which even included a separate toaster. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bergen for a few days. It's a comfortable, well-located place to stay, and considering Norway's generally high prices, we found it to be excellent value for money and surprisingly affordable.

Overall, the experience was good. However, I would particularly like to highlight the exceptional service provided by the employee working at the bar. She went above and beyond by assisting us with a request that was not within her direct responsibilities. Her willingness to help and proactive attitude truly stood out.
