Park Hyatt Zanzibar

The Park Hyatt Zanzibar is an absolutely beautiful space. The setting is stunning, with the pool area overlooking the ocean and a calm, elegant atmosphere that makes it feel really special. The design blends seamlessly with the historic surroundings of Stone Town, and every detail feels considered and refined. The pool area in particular stands out, it’s serene, well kept, and simply a pleasure to sit beside. Service was excellent throughout, attentive, warm, and professional without feeling intrusive. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy the surroundings. A truly lovely experience.

What can I say about this establishment? Despite being part of a well-known hotel chain, it is absolutely not living up to the brand’s reputation. The hotel enjoys a beautiful beachfront location, and the overall comfort is pleasant. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive points end. The food is the real problem here. And I deliberately use the word that best describes it: disgusting. The dishes are poorly prepared, tasteless, and sometimes barely edible. What makes this even more surprising is that the head chef is European. Every morning, you can see him proudly walking around the breakfast area in his chef’s uniform, yet it seems he has absolutely no control over the food coming out of this kitchen. The kitchen needs a complete overhaul. Replace the cooks, because the standard of food being served is simply unworthy of a hotel carrying the name of such a respected international chain.

My girlfriend and I had the best few days at the Park Hyatt Zanzibar. The staff went above and beyond and were friendly and professional. It was my girlfriend’s birthday and they left us a bottle of Prosecco and a cake which was a wonderful surprise. The room was immaculate, very spacious and a comfy bed. The location couldn’t be better, in the heart of stone town on the beach but at the more peaceful end of town. We loved sitting out on the veranda for breakfast watching the dhows sail by. The building is beautiful and feels elegant. One of the best stays we have had, thank you!
