Novotel Ha Long Bay

Having called Novotel Halong Bay home for the past two months, I can wholeheartedly recommend it for both short and long stays. The hotel is incredibly comfortable, but what truly makes it special is the impeccable service. A huge thank you to the amazing housekeeping team on the 10th floor. Their attentiveness, kindness, and attention to detail made my room a perfect sanctuary every single day. Equal thanks to the kitchen and restaurant team for their consistently prompt, helpful, and friendly service. The food was great, and the welcoming atmosphere made every meal enjoyable. Thank you to everyone for making my extended stay so pleasant. You are a fantastic team!

I stayed here for one night. Very nice hotel! OK area. Friendly staff. The room was quite big, very clean. The bed was big and comfortable. In the room, a small fridge, very useful, a medium-sized TV (I didn't use it, safe, kettle, bathrobe. The bathroom was big, clean, with an interesting layout. The air conditioning worked OK, as did the Wi-Fi.

My family and I recently stayed at this hotel, booking a total of three rooms. During our stay, we encountered an unexplainable supernatural event that left us deeply shaken. The family members staying in room 1102 found that their hairdryer was broken, so they went next door to room 1104 to borrow one. To avoid locking themselves out, they intentionally engaged the door's safety latch (security flip latch) to prop the door slightly open before stepping out. However, within just 30 seconds of walking to the next room, the latch of room 1102 was suddenly lifted, the safety mechanism disengaged, and the door shut completely. Initially, we thought the children inside the room were playing a prank. But upon checking, the kids had been lying in bed the entire time and had not gotten up at all. Feeling completely unnerved, we immediately requested a room change and asked the hotel management to review the hallway's CCTV footage. The footage clearly confirmed two things: first, the door was indeed securely propped open by the safety latch when we stepped out; second, during those 30 seconds, the hallway was entirely empty with no one passing by and no sudden gusts of wind, yet the safety latch was "actively lifted and disengaged on its own" before the door shut. The following day, we reported the incident to the hotel manager. The manager was very sincere and offered us complimentary coffee as a gesture of apology. We understand that such occurrences are beyond the hotel’s control, and we have no intention of causing trouble or demanding compensation. However, the psychological shock and distress this caused our family is truly something that a cup of coffee cannot fix. I am writing this review not to criticize the hotel's service, but simply to share a verified fact backed by CCTV footage, as a heads-up for future guests considering a stay here.
