Perfect location, really nice hotel. Rooms have been refurbished and are up to international standards. Staff is really professional, helpful and service is top notch for this class of hotel. Breakfast is nothing to write home about (it’s not bad, but it’s ok if you skip it). As there was some renovation happening when we visited, it could be that what was on offer was different than the standard breakfast options.

I loved this hotel! The rooms were incredible and the design felt so luxurious and stylish. The location is great as it’s right across the street from the beach. And the breakfast was delicious. I didn’t have a chance to use the pool or spa amenities, so I can’t speak to that. My one critique is that during our entire three night/four day stay the Wifi didn’t work once. The internet/wifi service was genuinely atrocious, and when we asked reception they told us that the Wifi was free and a page would pop-up where we could enter our email to gain access. But in attempting to access the WiFi, that page never appeared, and sometimes the WiFi network wasn’t even available or refused to connect. In today’s digital age, having reliable service is so important, especially when traveling so one can check in with their family and friends. If the hotel fixed this, I feel like it would cement the location as a truly high-end destination.

For a 5 star hotel one would expect the following. Porters on hand to help with luggage upon arrival given you have several steep steps. There is a ramp but it's steep. Tables to be set up for breakfast for guests. We had to wait for over 20 minutes and ask numerous members of staff for a cup to serve myself a hot drink. In addition of having to set our own table with cutlery etc and even when a complaint was made no one really checked if the table was set up. The staff were apologetic which is a good sign but please get the basics right if you are going to assign yourself 5stars. I must add I wasn't the only table that had to self service for cutlery etc. No poolside service, drinks/snacks had to be ordered via a lobby counter. When the food/drinks arrived a smile wouldn't be a miss. It may have been a 5 star when the hotel first opened, for now this is a 4 star hotel at best. The positives rooms are clean and the maids are very friendly and polite - well done on that front. The staff on the ground need more training as it only takes a couple of bad staff to spoil the experience for guests. There is no point having excellent service at check in when their is minimal contact with guests. It's the restaurant staff that should be over staffed as they have the most interaction with guests. The problem is likely to be caused by investment into refurbishment but at the cost of staffing ratio to guests at present time. Not enough staff to uphold a 5 star rating. Service without a smile is not acceptable. To potential guests looking to make a reservation, it's quite apparent that my points raised are have been highlighted by previous hotel guests. Nothing has changed and I will likely get the standard response of, points taken and the hotel will look to improve and look forward of welcoming you back in the future. Hopefully these come across as constructive feedback as I have been working in the hospitality sector for over three decades. If there are more reviews along the lines of mine in the future then there is a problem with direction and leadership at the top.
