Jumeirah Messilah Beach

Jumeirah Hotel is an amazing place to stay. The staff are very welcoming and make you feel comfortable right away. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and the overall facilities are really good. The spa is a highlight, with steam, sauna, jacuzzi, and showers, perfect for relaxing. They also have swimming pools by the beach and a kid-friendly water playground, which is great if you’re visiting with family. The buffet breakfast is very good, and there are several nice restaurants to choose from. Overall, a great hotel with excellent service, good facilities, and a very enjoyable stay.

My experience at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa was honestly disappointing for several weekly visits. There was a price tag stuck on the bathroom wall. I told them I needed someone to clean the bathroom and remove it—because I wasn’t going to do it myself. They either cleaned the bathroom and left the tag, or the tag stayed until the next day. Despite being a 5-star hotel and the room being for two people, there was always only one bathrobe provided, and there was never a vanity kit. The pool menu was very limited and overpriced. The outside food policy was also unclear — one time it was allowed, another time it wasn’t, despite no visible sign or written policy. On top of that, last week I brought a Saint Barth tanning product that’s sold in Kuwait, but two security supervisors approached me at the pool and accused me of consuming alcohol and that it was an alcoholic drink. I explained that it was just tanning oil and even asked them to check it, yet the situation still became awkward and uncomfortable. Honestly, I was very shocked by the question, especially as a Kuwaiti who knows and respects the local laws well. Also, management told me I could use the spa and facilities after checkout, but when I tried, I was denied access and given a hard time. Finally, Mega at reception was extremely rude, aggressive, defensive, and unprofessional. Instead of addressing one of my concerns, she put words in my mouth and attributed statements to me that I never made, seemingly to justify a mistake she did previously with my check in process. The interaction was frustrating, dismissive, and completely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. She definitely needs to train on hospitality and control her temper when approaching guests. I informed the Manager Mahmoud about the situation and he said he will take the certain action. I will be waiting for the follow up. Definitely not the level of service or organization anyone expects, especially that it represents Jumeirah.
