Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder

This was an incredible place to stay and one I genuinely hope to visit again soon. The property is full of authentic Northern New Mexico charm, with beautiful scenery and a welcoming atmosphere that made the experience memorable. I even included a few photos to capture some of its unique character. The only thing keeping this from a perfect five-star experience was that a couple of staff interactions felt less welcoming than expected. Thankfully, those moments were outweighed by everything else the property had to offer. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic New Mexico getaway. I’m already looking forward to the opportunity to return.

Stayed here for one night 7/20/26. Has nice spacious rooms. Lots of maintenance issues need to be addressed on this 2007 build. Good luck finding a casino tech when you have an issue with a slot machine or hitting a hand pay. They have all the up to date slot machines. Seems like all they have is black jack tables. Food options are pretty scarce on the property. We ordered food from Sbarro’s and they only had one table to sit at and eat which was occupied and the other food venues have signs stating “No outside food allowed” in their dining areas. So we had to eat at the slot machines. Food is very pricey here. They charged us for 2 nights stay and we stayed one night. My wife was on the phone for an hour with the hotel and the credit card company trying get it all settled. Slot machines are very tight. Atmosphere of the machines and players was very dormant. No excitement of any wins on the floor. Everything seemed to be in take mode.

This was our first time visiting the hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious, and overall good, but the amenities were quite disappointing. The room only had a small fridge and a basic coffee machine, and there was just one shared microwave available for all guests. The food on the property was extremely expensive, and there was no breakfast included or buffet option even at an additional price. It’s a decent stop if you’re just visiting the casino, but I wouldn’t really recommend it for families or longer stays. The property doesn’t feel very kid-friendly, and the overall stay didn’t feel worth the price.
