Golden Tulip Cannes - Hôtel de Paris

​I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. My 4-star rating is based specifically on the room quality and location; I have excluded the inflated fair prices and breakfast from my final score. ​The Pros: - ​Freshly Renovated: The room and bathroom were modern and clearly recently updated. - ​Prime Location: It’s very central. You can reach the Old Town in 5–10 minutes on foot, and it’s only about a 15-minute walk to La Croisette. - ​Private Balcony: My room included a small balcony, though it’s worth noting the view was just of the trash bins. - ​Professional Staff: The reception team was professional —but not extraordinary or real polite which seems standard for the French Riviera. ​The Cons: - ​Extremely Small: The room was tiny. There were only about 40 cm of space between the end of the bed and the wall (as seen in the photo), making it feel quite cramped. - ​Noise Level: My room was right next to the elevator, and the mechanical noise was audible inside. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend requesting a room further down the hall at check-in. - View and close Highway; There was no nice view at all. My room looked in yhe backyard and the building ist directly next to a highway. ​Important Context: ​I visited during a trade fair, so the daily rates were significantly inflated (€500+ per night). I also skipped the breakfast due to mixed reviews from other guests.

I had a room with a balcony that had a wall in front, so there was no view when sitting down except to the baclonies next to me. Also there was no door to the bathroom/toilet, which I found unsanitary and unpleasant, and something I have never experienced in a hotel before. All else, was very good and staff very friendly.
