FERGUS Style Cala Blanca Suites

Just come back from a 6 night stay with my two teenage children at the Cala Blanca Suites. First impressions of the hotel were good, appeared clean and modern. Check in was straight forward and our room was ready at 2pm which was nice. The hotel itself is located in a quiet part of Santa Ponsa around a 20 minute walk to the centre of the resort so not ideal if you want any entertainment or good choice of restaurants. The hotels position was lovely for the view from our room. The hotel itself is popular with young families so not ideal if you want a quiet vacation. It was also incredibly busy and the pool area far too small for the volume of guests. I hardly swam in the pool as there were constantly children jumping in and quite often on top of people. The only place to get a drink during the daytime was the pool bar which had one member of staff serving a few hundred people. This needs addressing as there were times where the wait was 15minutes for a drink. The pool only has one toilet each again this is not acceptable for such a large hotel. The ladies toilet door was broken so it didn’t close and remained broken for the entire week of our stay which I find rather poor for a 4 star hotel. On the positive side the staff at the hotel work very hard and are always smiling. The room although lacking in a few basic essentials like tea and coffee making facilities and a rubbish bin, was clean and tidy and a good size for our family. Overall I do not think I would return to this hotel or indeed Santa Ponsa as it was just not the holiday for me.

This was another visit to the region, and once again, we weren't disappointed. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were spacious, and the food was excellent. The service at all levels was outstanding—truly 5-star quality. The children's entertainment was fantastic; the "Barbie" character had the kids absolutely delighted. Everyone was friendly and smiling, which really enhanced the guest experience. The pools were warm, and the location was convenient—close to the sea, shops, restaurants, and the taxi stand. Will we come back? Definitely.

Definitely not a 4 star hotel! Staff were great Rooms basic but adequate. Food lovely but no snack bar as advertised. A plate of warm dried up sandwiches with a few slices of fruit doesn't cut it! Pool absolutely awful, far too small for the size of hotel. Bed wars at 5am! And the noise levels were horrendous. I actually felt at times it was dangerous. There were so many people in the pool, there was no way it could be managed safely and we actually saw a lady pull a child out the pool who was struggling and the lifeguard was nowhere to be seen. Bar. Average. Local cheap brands and bar closes at 11pm. There is also only 1 small bar manned by 1 person for most of the day and it was always a huge queue. 1 bar from 11am to 5pm manned by 1 staff member is crazy! The beach isn't a beach, it's a craggy, stoney cove with sharp rocks and a dodgy waste pipe seeping a weird blue green substance into the sea with a very unpleasant smell if the winds hit wrongly. They also have 2 lovely little ponies on site, but the living conditions are shocking. No grazing, very little food and fresh water and they looked bloody miserable and defeated. I really cannot see the benefit of keeping these poor animals in such a poor environment. They should be in a herd and be allowed for roam and graze freely. Its jjst cruel.Perhaps the hotel would make better use of the space by building another overspill pool to allow everyone to actually be able to use the facilities? Entertainment was good but Average, but the team worked hard with loads of effort and enthusiasm. Resurtant staff were exceptional especially lulul. So lovely. All in all if you want a really noisy and cramped experience, then go for it. Otherwise, leave well alone.
