DoubleTree by Hilton Kazan City Center

Other than the cookies, this was definitely not a Hilton hotel. First of all, it’s a very small double tree and lacks many of the standard perks, no sauna and a very old, rundown fitness area. The biggest issue is the ventilation on the 6th floor. There is no cold air ventilation, the windows don’t open AT ALL. After calling reception we got no help whatsoever. I noticed this is an issue happening for many years according to reviews, how is it possible that they have done nothing about it. Breakfast was also disappointing, if you want to order à la carte, be prepared to wait a long time. Very few breakfast options not the best quality. However overall staff is polite and although the interior is a bit dated, it is still in one piece. Hence I’m leaving a 3 star review.

Nice hotel, great location, clean rooms. We had several requests including early check-in, luggage storage, one night when our son stayed, and an adjustment to our schedule. Every request was a challenge with the hotel demanding money. While the fees were small, because we couldn't use western credit cards, these little charges caused headaches. BTW, other Hilton brand hotels we stayed at in Russia accommodated us with smiles.
