Best Western Hotel Das Donners

This Hotel was the worst I have ever visited in the category 4 stars in Germany and Europe. We were the night before and the night after in Germany and Holland in two other 4 stars hotels which were excellent! For a Best Western Group hotels, a so called business room advirtised with a size of 17-25m2 and 210 Euro / Night this was a shame! Our office sent the hotel a prior mail one night before quoting the reservation number, which was made by phone through your central office. Both during the booking process and via email, my office asked for the assignment of a large business room with a pleasant view. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met at all—quite the contrary! Room 215 looks out onto pipes and roofing felt. Furthermore, it smelled very strongly of food and kitchen odors, and the room temperature is over 28 degrees! The air conditioner in the corner was a joke, as fully out of order! The toilet door of glass was only 50 cm from the bed, so the light was on the face of the lying person and the smell and noise inside the toilette basically the same in the sleeping area! Horrible! The room was not clean! We could not leave the windows open as anybody could jump from the restaurant roof or from the balcony of the adjecent building into the room. So finally we ended up with a sleepless horrible night! We complained to the staff member, but unfortunately, they informed us that they could do nothing (or perhaps simply did not want to). We deeply regret booking this hotel, as for 205 euros, one expects at least a decent room in a 4-star hotel. Furthermore, it is highly disappointing that they did not provide us with any information beforehand regarding the assigned room. Otherwise, we would have made use of the opportunity to cancel free of charge until 4:00 PM and stay elsewhere. This is not an honest way to treat customers, but rather an abuse of trust!.
