At a cheese farm in Volendam, the journey from milk to cheese is shown step by step. Moulds, wheels resting on shelves and the smell of the ageing rooms explain how much patience the craft takes. At the end you taste cheeses from young to mature.
The workshop area can be cool, so bring a thin jacket. Guests with dairy allergies must say so beforehand. For children, asking questions and being curious is the best part.
