Snorkeling in turquoise Caribbean waters at Rosario Islands
Cartagena · Colombia
About this experience
Off Cartagena, the shallow, clear waters around the Rosario Islands turn turquoise above coral reefs. With a snorkel you can watch colourful fish, coral gardens and the sandy bottom. Once the boat engine goes quiet, you hear only water.
You should swim comfortably and stay calm in open water. Avoid touching coral, use reef-friendly sunscreen and test your mask before you go in. The sun is strong on the boat deck, so bring a hat and a light long-sleeved shirt. If you wait patiently underwater, the fish drift closer.
