Traditional charrería horsemanship show at Lienzo Charro
Guadalajara · Mexico
About this experience
In an arena in Guadalajara you watch a charro show. Riders in traditional dress perform lasso throws, tricks on horseback and rhythmic manoeuvres that bring rural Mexican culture to the stage. Charrería is on UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage.
The show can be dusty and noisy, with horses moving close by. Bring a hat and water for sunny hours. Choosing the shaded side of the stands adds comfort. Asking riders for a photo after the show is usually welcomed.
