In Lhasa, the Potala Palace, the historic winter palace known as the former residence of the Dalai Lama, holds sacred Buddhist halls and murals. The white and red building on the hill rises over the city, and inside you explore stairways, corridors and halls filled with prayer. It is a respectful visit at the heart of Tibetan culture.
