On Hong Kong Island, double-decker trams roll slowly along the street, and from the upper deck you look down on shop signs, towers and markets. The tram is a historic vehicle that keeps its slowness within the city's crowded, fast rhythm. Around Wan Chai the flow of daily life passes by the window.
The stairs to the upper deck can be narrow and the tram sways, so hold on. Window seats can get wet in the rainy season. A small bag is easier on the narrow seats.
