Gyeongbokgung Palace courtyard visit
Seoul · South Korea
About this experience
Gyeongbokgung was the main palace of the Joseon dynasty, and it stands in the centre of Seoul with a mountain silhouette behind it. Walking across wide stone courtyards, you meet red-columned halls with layered roofs and a pavilion on a pond. The scale and layout help you picture court life.
There is little shade in the courtyards, so bring a hat, sunscreen and water in summer. Comfortable shoes matter because you will walk a lot. Mornings bring softer light and calmer courtyards.
