What to know before you go.
The National Aquarium sits in Al Qana, in the heart of Abu Dhabi. It is the largest aquarium in the Middle East, covering 9,000 square metres and home to more than 46,000 marine and terrestrial animals.
Ten themed zones take you from the colourful coral reefs of the Pacific to the deep waters of the Atlantic. More than 200 sharks and rays from 25 species live here.
In the 360° underwater tunnel, it feels like walking along the ocean floor. A team of 80 sea-life experts looks after the animals, and the aquarium's education department welcomes 50,000 students each year.
The aquarium opens daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Allow 2 to 3 hours. Children under 12 must be with an adult aged 16 or over.
Comfortable casual clothes are fine, and sports shoes suit children. Bring valid ID or a passport and your mobile or printed confirmation. Entry, the 10 themed zones and the tunnel are included. Food and drink, transfers, premium experiences and private tours are not.
